What you'll need:
- 2 lbs. ground beef or turkey
- 1/3 large onion
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 3/4 cup italian bread crumbs
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 tsp crush red pepper flakes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
Steps:
- Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees
- On medium heat, put olive oil in a skillet until hot.
- Add onion, garlic, thyme, oregano, salt, pepper and crushed red pepper flakes until onions are lightly browned
- Add worcestershire sauce and chicken broth. Mix and cook until most of the liquid is evaporated.
- Remove from heat, and let it cool until it is room temperature.
- In a bowl, mix together the meat, eggs, breadcrumbs and cooled onion mixture.
- Make desired size meatballs from the mixture, and place on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes.
- Add to favorite pasta or sandwich.
