What You'll Need:
- 3-4 Apples
- 1/4 Cup Cornstarch
- 1/2 Cup Confectioners Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 TBSP Lemon Juice
- 2 Cups Water
- 1 Tsp Cinnamon
- 1/4 Tsp Nutmeg
Steps:
- Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Peel and chop the apples. Toss with lemon juice and then put in the fridge.
- In a saucepan, mix both sugars, cinnamon, 1/4 tsp of nutmeg.
- Add water and cornstarch until it boils. Mix frequently or sugar will melt and burn at the bottom.
- When the sugar mixture is at a boil (see picture below), add the apples and mix until apples are fully coated.
- Reduce the heat to low, and let the sugars soak into the apples for about 10 minutes.
- Either put filling into pie crust and bake, or store filling in jars or cans in the refrigerator!
